Adventure to Mars

SPACE DAY is an award-winning math, science and technology education initiative that uses the excitement of space exploration to motivate students to achieve in school and to realize the vision of our space pioneers. It is a yearly global celebration for people of all ages and nations to Embrace Space by participating in local events in communities throughout the world. SPACE DAY 2002 ..... Adventure to Mars focuses on the "Red Planet" and is designed to capture young people's imagination about Mars, the only other planet in our solar system that has the potential for human inhabitance.

Marc Garneau, Canadian Space Agency President and former Astronaut, joins former Astronauts John Glenn and Sally Ride on a distinguished Council of Advisors for Space Day.
